Stephen F. Bacen, Esquire (Retired)
Steve Bacen represented his first Hospital in 1970. He came to appreciate the very unique and ever-changing challenges inherent within the Financial side of Healthcare Law. The recognition of the need for a highly specialized Law Firm exclusively devoted to those challenges, led to his founding of the present firm in 1981 . Over the years, Steve represented Hospitals in literally hundreds of lawsuits on both the Trial and Appellate levels and in both State and Federal courts.
Sharing his experiences, Steve authored a substantial number of published articles relating to laws affecting Hospital issues. He also conducted numerous educational sessions on all levels, including the HFMA ANI. He has been active in several professional memberships including: Past President, HFMA Florida Chapter; member of the Florida Hospital Association.
Renee M. Jordan, Esquire
Renee Jordan is a partner in the law firm of Bacen & Jordan, P. A. Renee has extensive experience in litigating healthcare providers' claims in the area of Managed Care, ERISA, Worker's Compensation, Hospital Liens, RAC, Probate and Bankruptcy.
Renee is a current member of HFMA and AAHAM. She is Past-President for the Florida Chapter of HFMA, and formerly served as Regional Director for HFMA Region 5. She also is on the Board of Directors for the Florida Chapter of AAHAM. Renee is the author of several healthcare reimbursement articles for the HFMA and AAHAM publications. She also regularly lectures at seminars on the topics of third party reimbursement and compliance with State and Federal Statutes.
Darlene Clemence
Darlene is the Director of Client Services/Development with Bacen & Jordan, P.A. Her responsibilities include liaison to the firm's client base to ensure that the firm is meeting or exceeding client expectations as well as develop new opportunities for both our clients and the firm. Darlene has been in the healthcare collection/billing industry for over 40 years. Previously she held positions as Client Service Director for over 9 years and Sales Manager for 25 years.
Darlene is a member of HFMA and AAHAM. She has served for several years on the Board of Directors for the Florida Sunshine Chapter of AAHAM.
